Event 8: Little Man Leads (?)

$350 + $50 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Following level 6, players were sent on break and this was their last chance to register or re-enter this event.

Play has resumed with level 7, blinds 300/600 with 75 antes.  Levels are now 40 minutes long.

 Little Man Sica

Just before the break I discovered that Mike 'Little Man' Sica, who is seated over in the Poker Room, is up to 100k and might be the chip leader.

I also ran into Christian Harder, 2011 Borgata Poker Open Heads-Up Champion, who just arrived and late-registered for this event.

20 tables remain active in the Signature Room with another 18 or so over in the Poker Room.

Event 9: Grinding Away

$400 + $50 Omaha H/L

11 tables-full of Omaha Hi/Lo action in the Poker Room.

Esther 'E-Tay' Taylor has joined the fray.  She's sharing the felt on table 8 with Miami John Cernuto and
Ron 'schifty' Schiffman.

Currently in level 5 with limits of 200/400.

Due to the limit format and split-pot possibilities, it takes a bit longer for players to start busting out of this event.

Event 8: Also In The Field

$350 + $50 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Previously unmentioned notable players in the field:

Larry Gold
Mike Devinsky
Amanda Musumeci

Amanda won event 2 ($30k) and joins these other Fall Open winners in today's event:
Mike Lydon - event 1 ($84k)
Harry Korotki - event 5 ($39k)

Event 8: Too Close to Call

$350 + $50 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

There are a couple of players in the Signature Room with about 80k in chips.  One of those is Leo G.

 Leo G

When I inquired how he got all those chips, he replied "at gunpoint".  It actually took a couple of hands.  He made a full house and doubled up, then called an all-in holding pocket Jacks on a Ten-high flop.  His opponent had AT (top/top) and was busted.

With about 20 tables still active in the Poker Room, it is too early to call a chip leader, but 80k sounds pretty good (more than triple the starting stack).

Event 8: Out and In Again

$350 + $50 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Level 5 blinds are 150/300 with 25 antes.

James Boyle was bounced from the Signature Room when Steve Ryan flopped quads.  Steve is up to about 36k and James is on his second buy-in and now seated over in the Poker Room.

Greg Glassman has also fired his second bullet, hoping for better results.

Also in the Poker Room:

Ara Melikian
James Boyd
DJ Whorley

Event 9: More Omaholics

$400 + $50 Omaha H/L

They've opened table 11 and seated 2010 Borgata Poker Open Omaha Hi/Lo champ Barry Levy there.

Paul Spitzberg and Charlie Brahmi are sharing the felt on table 2.

Also present:
Chris Reslock
Glenn Englebert
Barry 'SushiboyNYC' Hartheimer

Currently in level 3 with limits of 100/200.

Event 8: Time For Tweets

$350 + $50 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

After three levels of play, players were rewarded with a break.  Here are some of their tweets:

Tony Sinishtaj busted out and asked the dealer for a re-entry ticket, so I expect to see him again soon.

** Two minutes after I posted this, Orson Young was walking out the door with a re-entry ticket in hand.

Event 9: Omaha Underway

$400 + $50 Omaha H/L

This is the second Omaha tournament of the Borgata Fall Poker Open, but this time it's Omaha Hi/Lo, which is played in Limit format.

Players began with 12,000 chips and levels are 30 minutes long.

Limits for level 1 are 25/50.

This is a one day event, so they'll play as long as it takes tonight to determine a winner.

Event 8: Poker Room Rockin'

$350 + $50 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)

Blinds are up to 75/150 (level 3).

Popped over to the poker room to check them out.  They're opening tables 46 & 47 now to accomodate more players.

I also witnessed the arrival of Harry Korotki, who won event #5 just 16 hours ago.  "I just find this so relaxing" he said as he settled into his seat at table 44.

Also spotted in the crowd:
Doug Rosen
Matthew Piccolo
Tommy Colamaria
Howard Wolper
Kevin Saul
Antony Maio
Mike 'Little Man' Sica

More players are piling into the Signature Room to fill out the 25 tables here (except the 10 seats which are held for early re-entries).  About 20 tables over in the Poker Room.
