Event 17 Recap

$350 + $50 Seven Card Stud

Fifty-six Seven Card Stud players took the felt at 12:00 noon grinding it out for the $19,600 Total Buy-In. Some familiar faces included, Bill Bumperino" Munley, Chris Reslock, Glen Engelbert, Bo Toft, Joe Boatwright, Joe Loguidice, and Rathe Miller.

Chris Reslock, Glenn Engelbert, Bo Toft, and Bill Munley failed to cash in this one day Event. Then again, 48 players failed to cash. The lucky 8 who got the money included, Dan Shapiro, Mike Huguenot, George Krafft, Rogrio Souse, Edmond Knesevitch, Ed Campbell, Rich Geller, and Grandpa Jay Zimmete.

Doris Bush was the Last Women Standing and Jack Barnes was the Bubble Boy.

We had an attorney, a CPA, an Electronic Sales guy, a retired FAA, and a poker writer in the field. When the dust settled, third place prize of $2,281 went to electronics sales guy Ed Campbell (Voorhees, NJ) and 2nd Place of $4,183 was awarded to Global Gaming Business writer Rich Geller (Newark, DE).

But the big Stud was "Grandpa" Jay Zimmet who took control of the final table and caught big hands at the right time. Jay takes home $7,225 and the Borgata trophy to his ten Grandchildren.

Jay, fresh off his June PLO Borgata victory, adds another piece of hardware to his mantle.

Congratulations again to "Grandpa" Jay Zimmet who won all of the 560,000 tournament chips and was crowned our 2011 Borgata Fall Poker Open Stud Champion.
