Badecker Beat-Down

Andrew Badecker - 640,000 - Chip Leader
They're calling him the human luckbox at the table. Andrew Badecker, the kid from Vernon, CT continues to chip up and dominate. "Assuming I cash tonight, I'm 4 for 4 in Borgata tournament cashes" said Andrew who won a WSOP bracelet last summer in the $1500 triple shootout to the tune of $359,000.
"I've been a poker pro for four years" said Badecker.

Bitker Bites Victor

After moving to table 4, Chip leader Victor Ramdin is in a huge pot with Adam Bitker (New Haven, CT).
There's more than 400k in the pot and board shows 10♥ A♣ A♦ 5♥ J♥. After Ramdin checks, Bitker bets 95k from the button.
Ramdin goes in the tank and after cutting out his chips a number of times, he eventually lets the hand go.
Bitker now has 625k, taking the chip lead from Ramdin, who drops to 500k.
100 players remain and we're 37 spots from the money. Play continues until the bubble breaks and everyone is expecting a long night.

Okay, I've never seen anything quite like the end of this hand. Eugene "Doctor Detroit" Juergens (Brighton, MI) shoved all in on the river then clapped his hands, stood up, sprinted towards the exit, returned with his arms raised like Rocky, then ran around some more as his Opponent was in the tank. He didn't even win the hand yet. Is this some kind of tell?

A crowd gathered around the table as Opponent thought and thought.
Eugene continued to celebrate as if he won, until Opponent finally called with A-K.
Eugene tabled J-10 for trip jacks and the 111,800 scoop.

No Spinella Zone

Since Anthony Spinella got moved to Table eight he's gone from 380,000 up to 590,000.
The last big hand for Spinella: He opened with Q-Q and got two callers.
Anthony bet 28,000 when his Queen hit the turn. He bet another 45,000 when a heart hit the river, even though that put three hearts on the board.
"I wasn't worried about the heart" said Spinella who made the right value-bet as Opponent called then tossed his cards into the much upon seeing trips.
Anthony is amongst the chip leaders with 590,000.

David 'Coldstone' Inselberg
Those of us that watch the World Poker Tour know that David 'Coldstone' Inselberg narrowly missed winning the Foxwoods World Poker finals in October 2010. He ended up taking home $325,608 for his second place finish in that event. It was also during the televised coverage of that event that we learned of his foray into the world of ice cream, hence his new nickname 'Coldstone'.
Since that final table, Inselberg has been on a hot streak. In November 2010, he made the final table of a tournament at the American Casino in the Dominican Republic. In December 2010, he final-tabled two events here at Borgata's December Series, winning the second event. Not a bad way to wrap up 2010 -- four final tables with one win.

Short stack Paul Spitzberg (Tenafly, NJ) jams the river. Lefevre folds and shows the table his A-10.
Nobody could believe the fold for only a few thousand more chips. Paul claimed he has 2-3 and caught the river but whispered the truth to me. He had K-Q for the Broadway nuts.

Yat flopped da nuts looking down at 2-3-5 and checks. Victor checks A-K and Q-Q jams.

Self-proclaimed rank amateur Corey Lieblein (Port Washington, NY) started the day with 72,000 and built his stack up to above average at 240,000.
Corey noticed my "Pokerjunkies" hat and was telling me how he was playing at the same table at the WSOP main event Day-3 with actor-producer Mars Callahan.
Corey owns a consumer electronics company so his products will be on store shelves all across the country on Black Friday which is a huge day for Corey and his company. Naturally he'll be sweating it out, hoping for a big shopping turnout.
Early on today Corey's A-A vs. A-K wasn't much of a sweat but did score Lieblein the double-up.
Some of the pros at the table were providing some friendly banter and Corey wasn't afraid to defend himself and spar back saying to a short stack, "I'm gonna clean your clock out like it's my job". At least for today, making the cash really is the only job at hand.
