Half-way through level 2 of an event like this is usually way too early to start looking for a chip leader. But this one was hard to miss.
Matt Pierce
Matt Pierce (Albany, NY) was the benefactor of a huge pot. Three players were all-in on the flop. Matt had top set and was up against middle set and two pair. Matt had both opponents covered so both were busted.
After sending to players to the rail, Matt chipped up to ~88k, nearly tripled his starting stack of 30k, and definitely claimed the early chip lead.
