Event 2: Prep Work

$260 + $40 No Limit Hold'em (Re-Entry)

Vasserman's Adventure

The bubble broke for Event 1 at 2 am which means all 90 returning players are in the money for a min cash of $828. It also means that 17 players are starting with less than 10 big blinds (5k/10k/1k ante).

Ilya Vasserman (Huntingdon Valley, PA) is a shorty with only 60k and is warming-up by playing the early levels of Event 2.

"What do I have to lose," says Vasserman, who's a Borgata regular. "I'm making money over there," he says pointing across the room. "If I don't double-up in the first 10 hands I'll be right back here. So why not play and see what happens."

Vasserman says if he goes deep in Event 1 that he's be happy to forfeit the $300 entry for this tournament as he chases the $84,682 first prize.

Unfortunately Larry Gold isn't as lucky. He busted in 92nd place, two spots off the money, after grinding for 15 hours and is back to play Event 2.
