The lucky 8 who got the money included, Dan Shapiro, Mike Huguenot, George Krafft, Rogrio Souse, Edmond Knesevitch, Ed Campbell, Rich Geller, and Grandpa Jay Zimmete.
Doris Bush was the Last Women Standing and Jack Barnes was the Bubble Boy.
We had an attorney, a CPA, an Electronic Sales guy, a retired FAA, and a poker writer in the field. When the dust settled, third place prize of $2,281 went to electronics sales guy Ed Campbell (Voorhees, NJ) and 2nd Place of $4,183 was awarded to Global Gaming Business writer Rich Geller (Newark, DE).
But the big Stud was "Grandpa" Jay Zimmet who took control of the final table and caught big hands at the right time. Jay takes home $7,225 and the Borgata trophy to his ten Grandchildren.
Jay, fresh off his June PLO Borgata victory, adds another piece of hardware to his mantle.
Congratulations again to "Grandpa" Jay Zimmet who won all of the 560,000 tournament chips and was crowned our 2011 Borgata Fall Poker Open Stud Champion.

"Grandpa brings home the bacon" exclaimed Jay Zimmet after hoisting the Borgata trophy.
His winning had came as he flipped a 7-8-9-10-J high straight.

Event 15 Recap
$1500 + $150 Heads Up No Limit Hold'em
A couple of birthday boys battled it out in the heads up championship match before Alex Queen (Bethlehem, PA) beat Darren Elias (Erie, PA), two games to one, to take the title and the 29,098 first place prize.
"It's a breath of fresh air," said Queen about the format just one week before his 23rd birthday, "It's fun to do something different and it's great to win."
For Elias, the runner-up finish wasn't a spoiler on this 25th birthday, as he was glad to celebrate
his $14,550 payday with friends and family over dinner.
"It's more exciting," said Elias about playing heads up, "I enjoy it more than a regular tournament it's a good change of pace.
The NCAA basketball style bracket was a best 2 out of 3 games in each round, featured two WSOP bracelet holders in Jason Young and Brian Lemke. They both missed the money as did 2011 Borgata Poker Open Champion Bobby Oboodi ($922,00) and former heads up champions Christian Harder (Sept. 2011), Jeremy McLaughlin (Sept. 2010), Jesse Yaginuma (Sept. 2009), and Chalie Hook (June, 2009).
After getting a bye in the first round, Queen swept his first three matches against Eracles Panayiotou, Cliff Ziff, and Jamie Kerstetter. The quarterfinal win set up a semis match-up against Olivier Busquet, the 2009 Borgata Poker Open Champion ($926,000).
The match went to a third game and Queen felt fortunate to beat the more experienced heads up veteran. "He's literally one of the best in the world," said Queen, "I tried not to be intimidated and was able run good in a couple of spots."
Elias' trip to the finals started with wins over Adel Shakerian and Dan Pignataro, before staging an epic 5 hour marathon Thursday night against Yaginuma. Elias eventually won the third game after the clock struck midnight, signaling the start of his birthday.
The final eight players returned Friday for quarterfinal action where they played for the $75,000 total buy-in.
Despite losing in the quarters, Anthony Zinno, Denis Gnidash, Jamie Kerstetter, and Michael McNeil all cashed for $3,638, while semifinal losers Busquet and Randy Feder, each earned $7,275.
Kerstetter became the first woman to cash in a Borgata heads up event, while Feder, who lost to Elias in the semis, cashed in this event for the second straight time. He advanced one round further than his quarterfinal loss in September.
This is Queen's second Borgata first place finish. The 2010 Borgata Spring Poker Open Champion ($356,000), is looking to take this momentum into the Fall Poker Open Championship event which gets underway Sunday.

$700 + $70 + $500 Six-Max Purple Chip Bounty NLH (RE)
Kevin Saul's pocket Jacks held up against a short-stack all-in with A4 suited.
Kevin collected his 4th bounty chip ($2,000).
A couple of hands later, Amanda Musumeci fired at an Ace-high flop of all clubs. Kevin Saul raised enough to cover her. She tanked for a minute, then called all-in, showing AJ for top pair (no club). She was ahead of Kevin's pocket 7s, but he had a club.
The offsuit King on the turn changed nothing, but the Queen of clubs on the river completed Kevin's flush.

Event 14 Recap
$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH
The second bounty tournament of the Borgata Fall Poker Open set sail at 11AM in Borgata Poker Room. Players love that in addition to the $87,850 Total Buy-In, each knock out gets you a black chip ($100) that goes straight to your bankroll.
From a field of 251 players only one person captured all of the 3,012,000 chips along with the $23,861 first place prize. That person was Johannsy Joseph from Spring Valley, NY.
He had to take down a field that included heavy hitter regulars such as Gionni Demers, James Boyle, Kalid Ali, Larry Gold, Sheree Bykofsky, Dave Zeitlen, Adam Lippert, Leanne Rosenblatt, Arkadiy Tsinis, Austen Johnson, Nachman Berlin, Mike Sica, Josh Brikis, and Dave Zeitlin.
Killer feature table formed consisting of Sheree Bykofksy, Larry Gold, and Austen Johnson.
There were three quick eliminations after the dinner break making Stuart Nelson (Atlantic, NC) on the rail as the bubble boy. Joe Manganiello (Cranford, NJ) was the first player to cash in 27th place earning $767.
The final table of ten included Johannsy Joseph, Justin Friedman, Pearce Arnold, Leonardo Palermo, William Kakon, Kenneth Brown, Dennis Roitman, Viet Nguyen, Jeff Edgerton, and Andrew Interdonato.
Six players made a fairly quick final table exit then Joseph, Arnold, Palermo, and Interdonato got down and played some serious poker.
Third place honors and $8,095 was awarded to Leonardo Palermo (Tom's River, NJ) while 2nd Place for $14,060 went to Andrew Interdonato. Andrew gained a huge chip lead during heads up play then lost a couple key hands, called for a miracle river to comeback again, then ran into a run of luck from Joseph. Interdonato was the top bounty hunter with 12 knock-outs.
Once again congratulations to our big winner, Johannsy Joseph who wishes his Pop a happy birthday today and has won the top prize and trophy in honor of all his friends and those who have supported him along the way.
Ten $100 bounties for Johannsy are added to his $23,861 payday. Great job surviving the 18 hour tournament - you're the only player who gets to keep his original bounty chip.

Event 14: 1st Place - Joseph
$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH
Congratulations to Event 14 Champion, Johannsy Joseph who was severely crippled three-hands into his heads-up match then battled back to be the last man standing in the entire Borgata Poker Room in the wee hours of the morning.
A key hand towards the end of the heads-up was when Johannsy flopped a set of deuces and let Andrew Interdonato turn two pair. All the chips got in on the turn and Joseph doubled up.
So after the third hand heads up, Johannsy was down to 600,000 (out of 3,012,000 in play) and three hands before the tournament would end, he left Andrew with only 600,000.
The winning tournament hand for our Champ was 4-3 off. Joe caught trip three's and successfully faded Opponent's nut flush draw.
A key hand early on was when Johannsy woke up to pocket kings 12 handed and they held up. He surged in chips and held on while player after player seemed to implode.
Johannsy says happy birthday to his Father whose birthday is today. Looks like Johannsy is supplying the cake - how about $23,861 worth of cake along with 10 $100 bounties.
Sounds like a great 18 hour day at the office to me.
Joseph thanked Jennifer, Mike B., Melanie, Soheb, Drew, Ralph, Dan Colpoys and apologized for anyone he forgot in the excitement of the win.
The money prize is great but our winner was most excited over taking home the Borgata trophy. Well done as you earned it in a thrilling finish.
Johannsy Joseph finished in 1st Place earning $23,861.

Event 14: 2nd Place - Interdonato
$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH
This was a heads-up match worthy of television with action flops, miracle rivers, and giant swings. It ended just before 5:00 AM.
Once Andrew was down to 600,000 he was waiting for an opportunity and found it in J-6 of diamonds on a diamond heavy flop.
All the chips were sent in the middle as Joseph's 4-3 hit bottom pair.
Flop: 6-10-3.
Joseph hit another three on the turn causing Andrew to beg to the poker God's once again yelling out "Diamond, diamond".
Unfortunately Andrew already used his "one time" on the last river card he called for and received with his tournament on the line.
River A (non-diamond) spelled victory for Joseph and 2nd Place for Andrew.
Andrew gives sincere thanks to his wife Carmela, sons Guy & Drew, and his dog Gio.
Look for Interdonato to play in some more tournaments during the Fall Poker Open, maybe even the 12:00 Event in seven hours. He also pocketed 12 bounties which was the most overall in the tournament.
Andrew Interdonato finished in 2nd Place earning $14,060.

Event 14: Reversal of Fortunes
$350 + $50 + $100 Black Chip Bounty NLH
Johannsy Joseph picked up a bunch of pots and had a 2 to 1 lead over Andrew Interdonato.
In one hand Joseph's K-J won a huge pot on a 7-8-K-2-A. Andrew called a 350,000 value bet from Joseph on the river.
Next a hand that could have ended it and made Johannsy the winner. Instead, Andrew scored a much needed double up after calling out the exact card he needed on the river.
Johannsy's 5-6 vs. Andrew's 8-5.
Flop of 5-6-10 gives Andrew two pair.
Turn 7 gives Andrew an open ended draw and a pair - this is when all the chips get in. Andrew called Johannsy's shove.
"Give me a nine" exclaimed Andrew. The dealer peeled off a nine of diamonds and Andrew immediately said, "Thank you".
With that hand, Andrew has regained the chip lead but it's virtually even.
Johannsy has 1,500,000 million vs. Andrew's 1,600,000.
This is turning into a classic heads-up match. Really anybody's game!

Andrew vs. Joseph
Three hands into heads-up, Andrew looked down at Q-Q and Joseph was dealt 10-10.
Joseph opened for 60,000 - Andrew made it 140,000 - Joseph pumped it to 380,000 causing Andrew to push all-in. Joseph called and had Andrew covered by only 600,000.
Board ran 8-9-8-5-7.
Can Joseph survive this huge hit? He's gonna need a double up to get back in this thing.

Three-handed, Leonardo Palermo was by far the short stack at the table. He hung on as long as he could but with blinds balooning, A-2 was his best opportunity to go for a double up.
Joseph caught lucky with his Q-5 seeing a miracle flop of 5-5-2.
9 on the turn followed by all the chips getting in after a river K hit.
Joseph called and tabled trips.
