Human tendency is to find meaning in random data, so some people think today's date, 11/11/11, will be extra special. Unfortunately for the players on table 11, nothing out of the ordinary happened at 11:11 am.
They players joked that the player in seat one was dealt pocket aces and lost. "Yeah I've been getting eleven," laments Mike Masone (Boston, MA) about his less than stellar starting hands, "7-4, 8-3, 6-5,"
But the rest of the Borgata gamblers love the number 11.
In blackjack, it's usually time to double down. In craps, an eleven on the come-out roll is beautiful. And eleven is always popular on the roulette wheel.
Nothing dramatic happened at eleven seconds after 11:11 am, but we still have the rest of the day and then there's always 11:11:11 pm on 11/11/11.
