Event 3: 500 to 50k

$400 + $50 No Limit Hold'em

Manning Up

The players on table 4 can't believe that Earnest Manning (Oxon Hill, MD) is still here, let alone that he's climbed to more than 50k (31 BB).

After a 200 ante, Manning was left with one purple (500) chip, which wasn't enough to cover his SB at 600/1,200. Five all-in bets later, he cracked the 40k mark and is continuing to climb.

The most dramatic of Manning's survival is the last one, when he had A♣ 10♣ against his opponent's 9♠ 9♣

Flop: 9 A 7♠ (Opp. set of 9s)

Turn: A♠ (Opp. full house)

River: A (Manning Quads!)

Manning, who was 5% to win the hand after the flop, goes runner-runner for quads.

All this on the heels of a miracle full house two hours earlier when Manning went runner-runner to stay alive after moving all in for his last 5k.

Blinds moving up to 800/1,600/200 ante.
