John Hatalovsky
There are several Veterans playing at Borgata on this Veteran's Day, as we honor the men and women who have served this country.
Meet John Hatalovsky (Roebling, NJ) who served in the Army in the "'40s and '50s," as the exact years are a bit fuzzy from his tour of the Philippines and South Korea.
"I turned 35, yesterday," jokes the senior most player at the table.
Hatalovsky is appreciative of the kind words he's getting today, the anniversary of the end of World War I.
Also known as Armistice Day, November 11 commemorates the armistice, or cease fire, signed between the Allied nations and Germany on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918.
Hatalovsky says he's only been playing poker five years and after "hopefully winning this (tournament)," he'll clear his calendar and make it back for the $1 Million Guaranteed Championship Event (Nov. 20-23).
From all of us on Media Row we thank the Veteran's for their service on this November 11, which, at the time in 1918, was regarded as the conclusion of “the war to end all wars.”
