Big Stud Shapiro
The big stack with 30 players left is Dan Shapiro (Great Neck, NY) and it's easy to track his progress. At the end of each level he writes down his chip count, and the data shows a sharp uptick the last two levels.
Shapiro was in the 20k neighborhood before nearly doubling his stack to 39,625 exactly.
Another familiar face spotted in the crowd is "Grandpa" Jay Zimmet (Manalapan, NJ) who won the June Big Stack PLO ($11,051). Click here to read how a brief illness helped him win the title.
